Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing themselves ~Unknown
This quote hit me straight in the heart. I will never forget the moment my life changed forever because of a simple yet profound sentence. A complete stranger -who is now one of my closest friends- told me, “You can have everything you’ve ever wanted in this life. The only thing standing in your way is you. You just have to decide to change and do the work.”
At the time, I didn’t fully understand what that meant. Now, I know it was the catalyst for my own healing journey and ultimately my purpose.
The Path To Healing
My journey as a healer began in 2003 when I became a massage therapist. For 13 years, I worked with the body, but over time, my own body started speaking to me-louder and louder- through physical pain. It was demanding my attention, signaling that I was meant for something more. Unsure of what that was, I hesitantly stepped into the world of manual osteopathy.
I resisted it at first, but looking back, I realize that the things we resist most are often the very things that transform us. Learning the different modalities with manual osteopathy didn’t just change my practice-it changed me. It introduced me to the world of energy work, deep listening and intuitive healing, bringing me closer to my own innate gifts.
The Emotional Body and True Healing
For most of my life, I was detached from my emotions. As a defence mechanism, I had learned to shut them down entirely-something I later understood as a trauma response. But as I worked with my clients, I noticed something profound: their emotional wounds were surfacing through their physical bodies.
The universe has a funny way of teaching lessons. Here I was, helping others process their emotions while I struggle to face my own. This realization led me to study Love and Authenticity Coaching, where I learned to identify and shift limiting beliefs, emotional patterns, and deep-seated trauma-not just for my clients, but for myself.
Even after doing deep inner work, I still hit roadblocks in my healing journey. My internal dialog, low self worth and lingering pain hinted at something deeper, something I couldn’t quite reach. That’s when I discovered Mukta Paint, a profound modality that unlocks trauma stored in the body’s tissues. Through intuitive body painting, I uncovered repressed trauma I had unknowingly carried for 38 years. My conscious mind had no memory of it, but my body and subconscious mind did. This experience was so powerful that, despite never picking up a paintbrush, I knew I had to learn this modality and bring it to others.
The Birth of Nuwara Wellness
My path has been anything but linear. I started as a massage therapist, became a manual osteopath, trained as a coach, and unexpectedly stepped into the role of an artist. But through it all, I’ve realized I am not just one thing- I am an Integrative Body Practitioner.
I help people listen to their bodies, release pain, break free from limiting beliefs, and step into a life of alignment and authenticity. Nuwara Wellness is the result of my personal and professional journey, a space where deep healing happens on all levels: physical, emotional, and energetic.
I am truly honored to share my gifts with you. If you are ready to begin your own transformation, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
