Just like this beautiful butterfly, dare I say, we are all a bit broken. Many people associate trauma with extreme distressing events like physical or sexual abuse. However, the body perceives trauma differently. Trauma is any emotional or physical experience that feels unresolved, often forming limiting beliefs tied to deep-seated emotions. These beliefs are typically shaped in childhood and continue to influence our thoughts, behaviors, and overall well-being.

There is no hierarchy to trauma-every experience that creates a limiting belief can have a profound impact. When these beliefs are triggered, the emotions attached to them resurface and even disguise themselves as other emotions entirely. If these emotions are ignored or suppressed, they don’t simply disappear. Instead, they become stored within the fascia, energetic body, and even organ systems, creating blockages that affect both physical and emotional health. This cycle continues until we consciously address and resolve the root cause of the trauma.

Furthermore, the body has an incredible ability to heal itself. However, trauma-whether emotional or physical-can cause dysfunction. To adapt, the body shifts into patterns of compensation leading to misalignment, restricted movement, and discomfort. Interestingly, the source of pain is often far from where the symptoms appear.

Using a gentle, hands-on approach, I work with the body’s innate wisdom to uncover and release these deep-rooted patterns. By integrating multiple modalities, I support the body’s natural healing process-restoring alignment, improving mobility, and enhancing overall function. This whole-body approach nurtures not only the musculoskeletal system but also the visceral, nervous, and circulatory systems, facilitating emotional release and helping you reconnect with yourself on a deeper level.

Myofascial Release

Fascia is made up of fibrous connective tissue called collagen. It attaches, stabilizes, surrounds and separates muscles, internal organs, nerves and blood vessels. It also prevents friction between moving tissues and has a rich nerve supply of its own. Trauma, repetitive stress, inflammation and surgical procedures create myofascial restrictions that produce tensile stress on tissue, resulting in pain and restricted movement.

Benefits:

  • Relieves chronic pain and tension
  • Increases mobility and flexibility
  • Improves circulation and lymphatic flow
  • Releases stored emotional trauma in tissues.

What to Expect:

A gentle, sustained pressure is applied to specific areas of restriction, allowing fascia (connective tissue) to soften and release. You may feel a gradual unwinding sensation, emotional shifts, or deep relaxation as restrictions are released.

Visceral Manipulation

This modality is used to break down fascia restrictions within or surrounding an organ to restore full movement and function of the affected organ.

Benefits:

  • Improves digestion and gut health
  • Relieves pain and tension in the abdomen, back, and pelvis
  • supports organ function and overall vitality
  • Releases emotional trauma stored in the organs
  • Improves structural subluxation

What to Expect:

The techniques are small, gentle movements that have profound effects on the entire body releasing restrictions in thee organs and surrounding tissues. This helps to restore natural movement and function while addressing both physical and emotional imbalances. Some clients feel immediate relief, while others notice gradual improvement over time.

Craniosacral

Craniosacral is a practice based on understanding rhythmic, subtle movements of the cranial bones and fluctuations of the cerebrospinal fluid within the spinal cord and brain, which effects the Central Nervous System. It is a gentle, non-invasive technique where the therapist gently works with the body, including the spine, sacrum and skull. The therapist is able to detect disturbances in the cranial sacral rhythm which helps identify areas of dysfunction in cranial, sutural, and other soft tissue restrictions in the body, as well as calm and/or reset the nervous system.

Benefits:

  • Reduces headaches, migraines, and tension
  • Supports the nervous system and emotional well-being
  • Eases stress, anxiety, Fight/flight response
  • Helps with sleep disorders and chronic pain

What to expect:

A light touch is applied to key ares such as skull, spine, and sacrum to help regulate the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. The experience is deeply relaxing, and many clients report a sense of calm, warmth, and emotional clarity.

Somato-Emotional Release

This is a therapeutic process that uses and expands on the principles of Craniosacral Therapy to connect to the emotional blockages stored in the body through trauma experiences and even times where physical injury caused an emotional response to be trapped in the tissue. Initially, the body accommodates to the presence of the blockage, but over time the body weakens or tires of this accommodation and can develop symptoms of pain, dysfunction, or emotional stress. During a somato-emotional release session, the therapist works with the client to explore and release unresolved emotions and traumas by using techniques such as gentle touch, guided visualization, and dialogue. The therapist holds space while the client accesses and processes these buried emotions, allowing for their release and resolution.

Benefits:

  • Helps process and release deep-seated emotional trauma
  • Improves mental clarity and emotional resilience
  • Supports nervous system regulation and stress relief
  • Enhances self-awareness and personal growth

What to Expect:

SER involves light tough and dialogue to guide the body in releasing stored emotions linked to past trauma. You may experience emotional shifts, memories resurfacing, or a profound sense of relief as blocked energy is released.
